New Website

We started the Northamptonshire Round with the intention of keeping it dynamic and interesting by adding additional walks that link into the Round.  Due to the argumentative, sorry discussive nature of the members of the TFC we agreed that each member would develop their own 'Petals' without the normal committee discussion about what should or should not be included.  This has led to some interesting walks that have a little of the character of the 'designer'.  However, due to the financial restrictions, the Northamptonshire County Council cannot adopt these paths in the same manner as the Northamptonshire Round,  To publish these Petals the Ten Foot Club have set up a new website on tenfootclubwalks.org.uk which was launched on 1st February 2005.  We trust you will enjoy these additional walks in Northamptonshire

Petal Progress

We are currently clearing two proposed petals with the County Council and, when approved they will be published on this site.  We have another 3 available but, due to funding problems we probably will not be able to publish these until next year.

Take up the Challenge 24th April 2004

The Northampton Nene Round Table used the Northamptonshire Round as a fund raising activity with members and their families walking sections according to their abilities and ambitions.  It turned out to be a beautiful day and was enjoyed by all.

The Launch Day

April 30th 2003 saw the Northamptonshire Round officially opened at Brixworth Country Park by the Mayor of Northampton, Mr Mike Boss with the Chair of Daventry District Council, Councillor Wendy Amos, in support.  The introduction was given by Mr Terry Maywood, The Managing Director of the Outdoor Group of whom our sponsors, Peter Storm, are a part.  Mr Peter Tilley spoke on behalf of our partners the Northamptonshire County Council on the developments in walking activity in Northamptonshire and the encouragement to get out into the countryside.  It was very pleasing to see so many local walking group represented and we trust that this new challenge will be taken up by them in the near future.

Thanks for doing this. It is looking pretty good. Any chance of putting up a single page outline map of the WHOLE route as well?

Logged on tonight to view your site.  great work - very impressive,  more power to your walking boots, sure to return again and again

thank you

Thank you for your article in the Herald and Post.  I have looked at some of the maps on your web site and have found them interesting.  Do you have printed way maps which can be purchased?  We enjoy walking but often find we only walk in areas which we know well.   We would enjoy finding new areas in which to walk.  Thank you
