Description ClockwiseThe
parking, refreshments and toilet facilities at Brixworth Country Park
make this an ideal starting point for a walk, be it a short stroll or
the start of the 50 mile Northamptonshire Round route. You
should not encounter any mud on this section, as the route is on hard
paths, all the way to Holcot village.
It is, therefore, suitable for disabled person wheelchairs and
baby carriers etc. Leaving
the Brixworth Country Park Visitors Centre follow the way-marked route
down towards the reservoir, and then continue along the northern shore
line until you reach the second car-park, off the Brixworth to Holcot
road. Turn right, crossing
the causeway, and continue on this roadside path until you reach Holcot
village. On
entering the village take the first turn left down Rectory Lane, this is
just after ‘Rose Cottage’.
This village path turns right and then you need to be careful to
pick-up the next right turn into the churchyard of St Mary’s and All
Saints Church. Follow
the path through the churchyard which exits into
Main Street, Holcot. Holcot
has accommodation and one Public House.
